Xangri-la's location on the south coastBrazil makes this house attractive for vacationers. A young couple planning a vacation hired Arquitetura Nacional to design a house where they could relax on weekends and holidays. The design combines two different structures, each of which is made of its material - wood or concrete - and also involves a shaded open space on the first floor.
The shadow casts the structure itself - this gives an opportunity to expand the living area, taking it out to the open air in the warm season.
Sliding glass doors eliminate the separation between the inner and outer zones, while expanding the space.
The interior is fresh and minimalistic, with details of beach design.
Wood makes the interior of the house warmer.
The staircase hidden behind the outer wall is covered with greenery.
